I wasn’t even aware that this type of product was a thing until I dove into this. It’s actually rather interesting, and it does make sense. These are Double-Shot PBT keycaps in an all white design. They feature a special translucent “pudding” dual-layer design that’s quite durable and oil resistant.
This creates a sense of a stick, as opposed to slipping on your keyboard during more intense situations. While I don’t normally feel that greasy feeling on my keyboard during gaming, I could see others having that problem. I personally have that come into play during extended writing work periods, and these were nice for helping to almost eliminate that issue.
While these are designed specifically for HyperX mechanical keyboards, I tried them on another mechanical with them performing just as well there. Just so you know, if you’re curious about using them elsewhere. You will of course need to make sure the keys line-up properly for full usage, but that’s the beauty of individual keys.
You can swap and choose specific parts of your keyboard to swap out if you’d like to. This could technically be used just for the more intensive portions of your gaming experience. The whole WASD if you know what I mean. With the whole swapping aspect, it comes with a tool that beautifully takes off the keycaps. It was safe, with no damage and it’s not hard to figure out. It’s a simple packaging setup that’s right to the point which makes sense. You get a few bags that contain the keys laid out in a regular keyboard design.
A neat aspect of these keys is that they’re designed in a way that lets your LED and RGB lights shine through easily. I actually thought they were somewhat of an improvement brightness wise on my keyboard, but to be fair that was a black key aesthetic with an orange glow. When it comes to some specifics the layout is English US featuring 104 keys. This is a mix of white and translucent white when it comes to the coloring.
The HyperX Double-Shot PBT Keycaps in White deliver a great option for letting your existing keyboard lights shine through while providing extra grip. They really are excellent, and I’m not sure they can get much better quite honestly. I wouldn’t have considered upgrading my existing keycaps, but it makes sense now.
These add a nice element of grip, and sweat resistance from the fingers which is a legit issue. These are great for gaming applications, or perhaps even regular work if you’re like me. They look cool, are sleek on keyboards and a great option if you’re considering something like this to enhance your typing experience.
