At the Calgary Expo 2022 there was a William Shatner panel at the Main Stage where he went over his career. It was mostly focused on a Q&A style presentation, very brief and I wasn’t brought up for proper photos like I was supposed to so apologies on the quality. The opening was quick jokes about venturing to Calgary is basically just a stop along the way to Vancouver.
Then he complimented the beautiful emerald green streams. There was a rather profound question about words to leave for the next generation. “Great question, deep”. Shatner mentioned that it was something he’d been thinking about. What would a lifetime achievement really be?
To nurture the child within. The curiosity goes away and is beaten by life. It’s a beautiful effort to keep that child alive and curious, that’s your lifetime achievement. The space journey for him was moving, with crying and then realized that was later out of grief for our world. “How can we have a war when the world is burning, that’s what I saw up there”.
That really was about all there was for the panel, it was quite short though a follow-up one is scheduled for later though we don’t have that one currently scheduled for our coverage. That about sums everything up, we have additional panel and other coverage from the show in our hub.
