Far Cry 5: Dead Living Zombies Review

"Anthology Collection"

Campaign

Far Cry 5: Dead Living Zombies is the best effort from the extra DLC releases for the game. It comes across as a series of films being pitched to various directors. It's a number of anthology films that are set within the same zombie based universe.

The levels are a mix of comedy and comment as directors ask for meaning whereas the individual pitching only wants to bring the boom. The comments on everything needing context against just being fun were different. While it seems minimal content wise, I appreciate the massively different stock of mini stories you get to explore while playing.

It seems like they just threw together everything they pitched towards what this DLC would have been. There's not a lot of depth, but that is basically what an initial pitch would be and it's great to hear the story while it is being displayed to you.

They don't exactly do anything too wildly different, but there are some good ideas here and some neat characters you very briefly get to play as. The zombies are also just wacky coming in many forms from regular people to the creatures that typically inhabit the landscape of Far Cry 5.

The Conclusion

Far Cry 5: Dead Living Zombies is a fine way to conclude the additional DLC content for the game providing a solid anthology of stories. It's nothing too serious, but a fun time with big explosions and varied scenes. You're never sure what sort of area you'll come across and it's always a surprise.

They could actually adapt a number of these into longer missions as they had distinct premises, but it was mostly just for fun. They don't take long to play, but there are a good amount of them. The missions can be enjoyed alone or with another person for coop and there are also score attack modes as well.
