Grounded Unboxing Press Package

To help celebrate the launch of Grounded, a special package was sent over by Xbox. This package was tightly packed and ready for a fun filled adventure to the backyard. In this Honey I Shrunk the Kids type of game you’re trying to survive the trials of being stuck in a backyard.

There’s mystery, excitement and many challenges along the way. This package sort of emulated that style with a fun building focused design. So within the box that I had to break open slightly since it was glued included a Burg.l card with some Steam codes to hand out and then a gardening type apron with the same robot branding.

For context, the machine you get quests from in Grounded is Burg.l. Then there’s a ChunkyChubb’s baseball which is a larger than life item you can find in the world. The final and largest element of this was the building project I had mentioned prior.

There’s a large set of instructions you follow which include cut outs to build your own fort. It’s a multi-layered base that also includes cut outs of various characters and critters from the game. There’s this big fortress you create and then you get a diorama in the backdrop which also includes the massive Punch-O juice box. It’s actually a rather fun collection of items that represent the game in a very different way.

This was certainly one of the more unique packages that arrived, they really do keep coming up with a variety of ways to keep things fresh, that’s for sure. Seriously, I’m never sure what sort of work is going to be involved in these packages which is half the fun. The building itself took me a good fifteen or twenty minutes to compile, so I got some enjoyment out of that as it was actually a neat build to do.

It also perfectly captures the spirit of the survival game. Grounded being available now after launching from Game Preview to a full release after a couple years being available on Xbox and PC platforms. It’s also a Xbox Game Pass title, so you can play it that way if you so choose. Check out my thoughts of the game below, or the general Grounded hub for further coverage.
