Kingsman: The Secret Service Review

This is a premium mobile title meaning it has a cost associated with accessing it. With that, comes no ads or microtransactions within the game which is great. This is a generally solid narrative driven experience that has a set of ten chapters to it. They’re all about fifteen to twenty minutes in length, but that is of course based on how difficult you find the game. I also found that the levels became more difficult as things progressed, so extra time is present in the latter levels.

There’s actually a bit of a story here, told through text based messages. You’re playing as Eggsy to tackle the main problem, while working directly under Merlin. This is set within the Kingsman universe and it definitely does carry a distinct art style. Its cartoon in nature which is fun, yet at the same time can be rather violent with the level of blood present. During the missions you’re generally eliminating targets, activating computers and doing some problem solving to work through areas.

Nothing too complex puzzle wise, but the element is there in the game. You get more tools as you progress as well. You’ll jump through lasers, stab enemies with toe shoes or even fire away from behind the signature umbrella. Care will be needed as you can die, but the game is more than fair with checkpoints though it does have a lives counter. I didn’t ever run out, but I felt it was worth mentioning.

Kingsman: The Secret Service delivers a solid premium experience. This should be great for fans of the series, or those that want a nice little action game. It presents a fun time, that has some challenge to it as you decide how to tackle situations.

There’s a bit of a slow motion counter for gameplay that allows the planning of battles. It’s both slow, and deadly which makes sense as you jump in. It’s a neat system that works well. There’s a fine amount of content here and some goals as you get ranked through your performance in each level. I did find the controls to be a slight frustration at times, but for the most part it was great in that department. It’s nice to see a premium mobile title and this delivers on content for the platform.
