This is a rather different sort of platformer. It’s one where you’re able to switch from 2D to 3D in order to work through certain situations. This is also a fast paced title where the goal is to get the quickest time possible in each level.

This was part of the Pax Online demo showcase so a limited part of this game was available to try out. I personally found this to be rather frustrating, and perhaps that’s due to the controls or just how the character sort of slides at times on things.

At least; that’s how it felt, like a sort of extra slide. This caused many deaths and you have to restart the entire level segment after you perish. That does make sense though since the levels are fairly short and timed.

Again, this was a slice of what to expect from the title so largely just tutorial elements and even then it wasn’t the most accessible of an experience. It’s definitely a cute looking game, I just didn’t expect that harsher edge to it.

I quite liked the swapping of perspectives, and it takes a second to get used to that. It’s neat, and definitely messes with what you might be used to platforming wise. You’re aiming for speed so there’s that pressure and then you’re shifting which completely changes the perspective. The visuals were well done and it feels like a crafted world.

It’s also a rather minimalistic one which worked well for the shifting areas. It also has some combative segment where you create a ghost form to battle. That was different, as it somewhat takes you out of what you’re doing. You come back to your regular form and you could be back a bit from where you were ghost wise.

It’s an interesting game, but I think some adjustments might be needed to really make this one shine as I did think the concept had potential. I also wish I had more of an idea of what the situation might be narrative wise in this one. I did appreciate the controller support.Be sure to check out our Pax Online 2020 hub for additional coverage from the event in regards to the games, previews and interviews we’ll be showcasing.
