Pokemon Go Calgary Best Spots to Catch Pokemon

Being local to Calgary, in Canada I've been going around collecting Pokemon since launch and have continued to do so over the years. Even working through multiple Go Fest events. Anyways, through this time and discussion with others hunting Pokemon in the city here are the best spots to find some around the city. A listing of different options whether you’re looking to play outside or even perhaps indoors since it does get rather cold out here, that’s for sure.

I'd like to open once again by mentioning that your own house or neighborhood is a great spot to catch Pokemon and you just need to check your phone occasionally to come across some easily without walking anywhere. They’ve improved this aspect a lot over time, it’s not too hard to find some right at home.

Spruce Meadows is a great place for a wide variety of Pokemon found across the large space in great quantities. While going there to watch the equestrians I spotted a great many and there's a pile of Pokestops really close together which are great for collecting more bonus items. It’s quite scenic too, and a great place to walk around at.

The Malls: It's crazy how many Pokemon can be found in malls especially at this point where it's not generally available in Canada. There are piles of them available in mostly Chinook (many, raid events too), Cross Iron and Sunridge does have some though in smaller amounts when comparing them.

Parks: They're great spots for collecting tons of Pokemon with Memorial Park; Prince's Island and really anywhere along the Bow River seems to be good (be cautious of the water obviously). I mention more water type areas as certain Pokemon only spawn within so much distance of water. I believe Prince’s Island is probably the best of them, very full and the hit spot for Go Fest.

You also will find some around Carburn Park, Sandy Beach or even Glenmore which all have a good set of stops. Another great place is Elliston Park, it has a pile of Pokestops within a close proximity right near the parking lot so you can drop by quickly and keep going. It's also a nice walk around if you're looking for exercise, but you won't find many around the entirety of the lake.

Fish Creek park is also filled with stops if you go to the right spots down there and it's a lovely place to visit. A final mention would be Harley Hotchkiss Gardens might have a nest which would have a lot of Pokemon, though can't confirm as it’s one I’ve just been told about.

Landmarks: These are always good spots to find some Pokemon though they might be nabbed as being key spots people would go. I'd suggest finding some of the more local ones that aren't known to most folks as they still count as important spots and Pokestops without having the same crowds. Good spots; Calgary Tower, Hockey Arenas, Football Fields and the larger schooling campuses (probably well drained of Pokemon).

The Zoo: This is a great way to double up on visiting value as the Zoo is straight up stacked with a variety of stops to spin. You could also just use the biking/walking path behind it to grab a number of them too. If you’re more adventurous, Telus Spark is near there and has a number of stops as well to visit.

Well, I hope this list assists you with building your collection and if you know other spots let me know. Also feel free to throw a comment down of unique places to catch them or crowded areas as we're all in this race together to catch them all.
