Side by Side Comparison Technical Notes
The showcase here was mostly focused on presenting the visual elements of the changes between the original Xbox 360 release of the game and the more recent sort of remastering. When it comes to Risen on Xbox 360 the game has a 720p or well sub that resolution quality with a target of 60fps. In the video it was running via the backwards compatibility on Xbox Series X allowing that smooth frame rate to be hit with the overhead.

It still of course suffers from a really jagged presentation, tons of pop in and generally low quality assets. The new version which is essentially a remaster without the titling called Risen 1 for whatever reason seems to have many improvements that are believe to be brought over from the PC side of things. Improved pop-in handling, higher quality assets and revamped lighting to name some aspects.

A smooth frame rate, higher resolution target and two graphical options. Vegetation is also massively increased. Those graphical options are mostly from the fact that the highest settings are inherited from the game being targeted for Xbox One X without an Optimized version despite being a couple years into the current generation.

Description/Synopsis
Delve into the gritty and atmospheric world of Risen, where every action has a consequence. Master the sword, learn the art of staff fighting, or become a powerful mage, forging your path across a land filled with mysterious earthquakes, fearsome monsters, and unimaginable treasures.

The island of Faranga’s heavy tremors bode ill for its inhabitants. Ancient temples have risen from the ground, bringing with them bizarre creatures that terrorize the area. Fear and panic are spreading throughout the population. Basically you’re sent out into the world, good luck surviving and what not.

Hopefully the comparison was helpful in understanding the changes that are being presented between these options. It can help greatly to have a quick visual presentation that’s lined up for a faster viewing.

This side by side comparison should really provide all of the info you need to know when it comes to matching up these choices and giving you the quick facts to see why they’re being placed up against one another.
