This is a rather delightful and calming experience. In Snowtopia you’re essentially running a ski resort simulation. It’s an easy going time where you have some tools to create intense courses and just watch those skiers roll in to try them out. The demo available at Pax Online 2020 was limited in scope, but gave an idea of the atmosphere.
It had a couple templates available for play, and these give you large open areas to build within. A limited selection of workers and structures were available at the start. You’ll need to be smart in your allocation of resources in order to grow your resort area and offer better creations.
The visuals were minimalistic, and charming. The tools were easy to use, and it seems to be something quite enjoyable. You just setup a lift of your choice and then start carving those hills to create a course. It’s easy to see how intense the challenge will be based on some color ranges and you can adjust the style of them however you’d like really. It’s quite cool, once you’re setup the skiers head out there and you can continue building along.
It’s definitely along the lines of other similar simulation games, and I think there’s a lot of potential for this one assuming the full experience has further content to it building wise. It’s just a really chill, and chilly time. It has the complexity in management that you may desire, and yet a nice casual time as well.
