Ready Player One 4k: Real or Fake?

Ready Player One is not real 4k shot at 35mm negative. The master format was 2k resolution. The film also features HDR, Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision providing brighter, deeper and more lifelike colors. This movie will take full advantage of your 4k TV and even look better when viewed at a lower resolution when using the 4k disc/digital copy. The release to home video was on July 24, 2018 with a run time of 140 minutes. The disc includes over 90 minutes of special features and bonus content.

UHD Main Feature: 2160p Ultra High Definition 16x9 2:4:1 with Dolby Atmos and English 5.1 for sound. The Special Features are not in 4k and don't support HDR.

About the Film

In 2045 the real world has become a harsh environment. The only place that anyone really feels alive is when they escape to the virtual reality world that is the "Oasis". The narrative follows Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) as he hunts for Easter Eggs that take the form of three keys. If he collects these keys before anyone else he'll gain access to the fortune and stocks of the Oasis' creator James Halliday (Mark Rylance).
