Calgary Expo 2020 Cosplay Flashback Highlights

With the ongoing global COVID situation, one of the big events of Calgary was sadly unable to go ahead. That event of course being the Calgary Expo 2020. This would have been our fifth year in a row covering it as press, and that’s slightly disappointing. Its fun to cover, gathers quite a crowd and provides some exciting panel moments. I personally have a blast attending and enjoy seeing how it changes each year.

With that, I thought it might be fun to do a cosplay flashback sort of article to celebrate the best of what we’ve seen over the many years of attendance. Just a number of interesting creations from those that have attended the show while trying to present a character of their choice.

We certainly see some very talented offerings at the event since we typically attend each day that the show runs. It’s very disappointing not to have this sort of thing going on in the city, and hopefully it’ll return in the next year as it’s a fun staple of coverage for us.

I hope you enjoy the selections, and that things get back to normal sooner than later. While some of these pictures were taken by myself, the best of them were taken by our photographer Ken Appleby and I would like to give credit to his excellent quality assistance.

I certainly hope you enjoyed the options that were chosen. We do of course have years of photos from the Calgary Expo which can be found within our hub, capturing each of the days of the show.

We also have included a video presentation which is from the last year with a mash-up of memories from other years past as well. We definitely look forward to covering the show next year!
