The buzzing intensifies as Bees are the latest mob to be added to Minecraft. This is a fresh change that’s coming to the game with various elements of play. This include the bee as a brand new creature, including nests and hives as well. There’s also the Honeycomb and some additional dispenser functionality. These are cute, fuzzy and neutral mobs.
Best not to hurt them as they don’t want to hurt you at all. If a bee does sting you, it will leave its stinger in you and eventually die, dropping nothing in the process. The bees love the flowers and spend their lives gathering pollen from them. After gathering enough pollen the bees will fly back to their home nest. The bees help you by growing crops while carrying pollen back to their nest.
They can be bred using flowers, and they like sharing the location of their favorite flowers with other bees. If a bee can’t find nectar, after a while it will return home for a bit. Bees don’t like the rain and they sleep at night, they go back to nest in cases. Dispensers can now fill bottles with water and honey, they can also now shear honey combs from bee nests and hives.
The bee nests spawn naturally within flower forests, plains and sunflower plains biomes. When a bee visit this block and completes its journey undisturbed, the level of honey increases.
The max of five levels of honey, with level five honey being very sticky. Bees use nests and hives to share flowers locations with other bees. Sometimes bees that already know about a flower will choose not to use this location information. The hives are crafted by players using honeycomb and wood planks. Use a silk touch tool to get the block with the bees stored inside. Bee nests will be destroyed unless you use silk touch when mining them. Use shears when at full honey to get a honeycomb.
Use a bottle when the honey is full to get a honey bottle. Campfire smoke calms bees, place one underneath the nest/hive to keep them in chill mode. They are redstone friendly. The bees like nests and hives the same amount. Honeycombs are collected by shearing a full honey hive or nest. You can craft with wood blanks to create a bee hive as mentioned.
