The latest go out there and explore augmented reality game has arrived. Minecraft Earth is available in Canada, and therefore Calgary. It’s available as a free to play game on IOS or Android platforms. I’ve been working through it the last few weeks and here are the best locations in Calgary to play the game.
I will note that you can collect more than enough blocks just sitting at home, but there’s more to find out there. Regular tappables which include stone, dirt blocks, trees or mobs are basically everywhere. The adventures, which are where you find great loot are found more specifically in spots that are important.
It’s quite similar to Pokemon GO in regards to finding these spots, so think like how you would play that and just transfer those ideas to this game. Being local to Calgary, there are key locations filled with more tappables and adventures to go on. Parks are a good place, as are larger structures such as malls. I found Chinook Centre to be filled with things to do, and Cross Iron is another one that’s excellent.
When it comes to outside locations, Spruce Meadows is great. I also found Prince’s Island to offer a lot, as does downtown in general. Elliston Park is another good park spot, can sit right in the parking lot and tackle some adventures. Fish Creek Park would be another one, just generally the key park spots offer many adventures for you to go on. Landmarks also contain some good spots including the Calgary Tower, Hockey arenas, football fields and definitely the school campuses.
This is somewhat vague, but so it’s what you’re after. These spots offer more, but you can gather a lot just being at home. If you do want better loot such as iron, or coal and even diamond you’ll want to travel to places noted or like them in order to be able to gather them within the adventure missions.
