If you’ve been having troubles understanding, need a brush up or are new to the game’s building mechanics this should be a helpful article. Here’s a quick guide that will answer the question of how do you get coal in Minecraft Earth? While also going over what to do with the material once you do obtain it. Coal is a rather essential part of the game, it’s one of the most efficient items for use in the smelting process.
You’ll find coal by going on “Adventures” which are special missions that show up on the map. These are different from tapping various items that pop up, you actually need to bring a pickaxe and some protection in the form of a sword to venture into these. Make sure no valuable items are in the main bar as they could get lost if you happen to die on an adventure. Once you find an adventure on your in-game map, and it’ll say adventure so you know. You then have to place it in the real world as it’s an augmented mission.
Once it’s placed begin digging into the ground and through the cobblestone. This is where you’ll likely find coal for use, keep in mind that not every adventure will contain it. This special block looks like regular cobblestone, but has black markings on it. There might also be hostile mobs that you have to deal with, that’s why you bring a sword along for the venture. That aside, once you get what you’ve been seeking, the process below goes over how, or what to use it for.
You start this smelting process by clicking the middle icon of your main screen navigation. This will open up an area that has a bunch of icons that are in a row. Below those icons you’ll see three slots for placing items within. The area that follows are the various recipes that can be created using your furnace. When you tap on any of them it’ll show what materials are needed as shown in the picture above.
To start the process you will pick one of these and it will pop up with multiple options to choose from. You’ll have a tab for the initial details, and one for fuel which is where our acquired coal comes in handy. There will then be a plus or minus selection to choose how much of something you want to create. You can also just click minus in order to get the max quantity of item you can create right away. Below the desired creation you’ll get an idea of how much time it will take to make.
You will not be able to smelt anything else until your current creation is completed its processing time. Fuel is the second tab, and important for this path of creation which is why we just mined out some coal to use. Once you’ve got everything picked, select smelt and wait for the time allotment to run out. Once that’s done you can collect the item and then use them for your builds.
