The floating Allay are the one of the calmest mob creatures to join the wonderful block world of Minecraft. These peaceful pixie like blue creatures are a little different in comparison to other critters you’ll find out and about. These ones need to be saved from pillager posts as they’ve been essentially taken hostage there.
The key to taming them after freeing them is to just give them an item to hold onto. It sounds odd but these creatures like to hold onto blocks. They’ll hold onto something for you and just generally fly around following you. At that point, they’ll start wandering around looking for similar items of the type that were given to them.
It can follow you from up to sixty-four blocks away, even if you can’t see them. It’ll seek items out in a thirty-two block radios as well. After delivering an item to a player it does have a bit of a delay which is a few seconds before it can start acquiring more stuff to provide you with. It has a singular stock option, holding up to sixty-four items or well that depends on the type of item it has.
So you’re not really able to breed Allays, you have to find them out there in the wild and then sort of tame them by offering them a block and giving them a purpose. If you add in some musical blocks you can adjust these behaviors furthers which is rather fun to play around with and test out. So you’ll be able to find these creatures in cage areas.
The first is the pillager outposts where can have up to three Allay per cage spawn area. Past that, you can find them in Woodland mansions in a similar setup as they’ll be in the cells again. I hope this guide on how to Tame Allays and breed them in Minecraft was helpful. Check out our hub for further guides and coverage of the block based game.
