Minecraft How to Tame Frogs and Breed Them

The ribbiting frogs are the one of the newest mob creatures to join the wonderful block world of Minecraft. These smaller critters can be found hopping about within mangrove swamp type areas and open water spots like regular swamps. Mostly mangrove swamp biomes specifically. They're typically beside their favorite food source, which are slime balls. That’s right, the awkward slimes are finally useful from a food perspective and you can find them in the region too.

Just keep in mind that going after those will make them spread into smaller slime forms which are a handful to deal with. The key to taming them is the use of just a slime ball in combination with them. This is probably something many will wonder about as mating animals in the game is often desired as you can get an off-spring and have more of them hopping around.

This is a rather easy process, very simple with these creatures and not much of an effort to perform. Basically, just keep feeding them the slime balls until hearts appear over their head and push them together if they're not just meeting each other. At that point they will provide some eggs over nearby water.

Eventually a tadpole will appear and you can take that little critter with you on an adventure. Where these tadpoles grow will determine the type of frog coloring it’ll end up as which is really cool to see as a feature. It takes two for baby frogs or well tadpoles, and they have a real world cool down before more breeding is possible between those involved.

That's right, it may not just be about getting the heart emotion going. You may actually have to manually get them closer together. It's also important to remove the slime balls from your hand after doing so as they'll be drawn to you instead of their mate which makes them harder to tame.

When bred, the offspring will be small and can grow up unique depending on the biome you place them in afterwards. That’s right, the type of climate will change them and that will vary further by the weathering or well temperature of that location. Frogs in general will snack on slimes and can jump up to eight blocks high.

They take less fall damage in comparison to other mobs as well. Aside from that they enjoy jumping on lily pads of big dripleaves. If you feed a frog a small magma cube it will leave you a froglight block so you can farm that. Keep in mind that the type of environment will change what sort of light you get.

The temperate frogs grant ochre froglights, the cold frogs will provide verdant froglights and finally the warmer frogs will drop the pearlescent froglights. These are similar to other blocks of light, emitting a nice soft style that’s unique and fresh. I hope this guide on how to Tame Frogs and breed them in Minecraft was helpful.
