Minecraft Looms & What They Do

You might wonder what exactly the "Looms" do in Minecraft and it's rather simple. These are special work station blocks that are used to apply patterns to banners. They’re very specific in nature, yet neat to use within the game to create custom designs. Looms can be broken with any tool, but axes are the quickest in doing so.

These are easy to craft items requiring simple string and planks in order to create them. You can find looms naturally generating within Shepherd houses of the villages. To essentially summarize, the latest item is mostly decorative in nature. It provides functionality to customize your banners within the game. To use you’ll open the loom up and it’ll contain three slots. One slot is for a banner, the next is for a dye, and the final slot is for a pattern if you’ve created it. When selected, you’ll get a preview of the banner after the materials have been applied. Once you’re happy, just take the preview and you’ll have a created custom banner in Minecraft, cool. Don’t forget to swap colors around and have fun with it.

The lectern crafting creation is as follows. The top row; Blank | Blank | Blank, second row is String | String | Blank, and the third row is Wood Plank | Wood Plank | Blank.
