Minecraft Nether Update Details Revealed

Things are going to be changing for that area beyond the portal, as the Minecraft Nether update has been detailed with various upgrades and enhancements. This will greatly alter the usage of the area and there’s no current release date for when this is set to arrive. It will bring some unique biomes, new creatures and completely revamp one of the more simplistic spooky areas within the game. You can find details each of the new areas and creatures below.

Soulsand Valley
This is a quiet, desolate area featuring blue fog and blue flames. There’s a brand new blue fire block that’s activated through soulsand. There are ominous gigantic fossils and it’s mostly barren. Minecraft Nether Update Piglin
Netherwart Forest Red
This is a dense forest with swirling particles and a dense atmosphere. It’s going to feel like a place you can get lost in, and it’s just really creepy looking.

Netherwart Forest Blue
This is basically a variant on the previous forest, this one has a blue hue to it. It will have its own atmosphere and unique blocks to this spot. You will find some Nether Fungi here, which is different and discoverable on the ground.

Piglin Beast Mob
This is a large new tusked pig beast that’s hostile. It can be bred as a food source in the Nether, and it’s dangerous. A final note is that the name is likely to change as they’re currently taking suggestions on it.

Piglins Mob
The Zombie Pigmen have been renamed to Zombified Piglins, and then there are now standard Piglins. They live in the Nether and are hostile to you along with most other mobs. You’ll find they have small fortifications they’ve built called bastions.

They are always on the hunt for gold, and if you wear gold armor they will ignore you. If you start rifling through their chests they will attack. You can interact with them using a bartering system which is slightly different from trading with villagers.
