You might wonder what exactly a "Scaffolding" does in Minecraft and it's rather simple. This is a special material used for building and general construction. They’re very specific in nature, yet neat to use within the game to reach new heights. The Scaffolding can be broken with any tool, nothing specific is required and it’s instant.
These are easy to craft items requiring simple bamboo and string in order to create them. You can find Scaffoldings naturally generating within Fletcher houses of the villages. For a fun fact, the blocks can be used as fuel within a furnace to smelt 2.5 items. That is, if you’re desperate to cook something in there I suppose. More details and crafting guide below.
Uses and Other Details:
To essentially summarize, the latest item is super useful for large scale survival projects. This setup can be stacked and allows players to go safely up or down with damage. When the bottom block of scaffolding is destroyed, all blocks above it will break down. The item has no collision detection, it can be jumped upon or snuck on. The items can be moved by pistons which allows for a quick destruction. There’s a Xbox Achievement titled “Top of the World” which grants 20 Gamerscore and it is for “place scaffolding to the world limit.”
The Scaffolding crafting creation is as follows. The top row; Bamboo| String | Bamboo, second row is Bamboo | Blank | Bamboo, and the third row is Bamboo | Blank | Bamboo. You’ll find bamboo in special chests or within the specific special biome.
