Interview with Rifat Oguz, CEO at Sinemia

A staple I do in all interviews in order to start things off is to ask that you elaborate a bit about your service for those unfamiliar with it?

Rifat: Sinemia is a movie ticket subscription service that offers plans for every type of moviegoer. From $4.99 for one movie ticket per month, to $29.99 for one movie ticket every day of the month, any movie fan can find a Sinemia subscription plan that works for them. Our pricing has been tested for years in markets around the world, and while other movie ticket subscription services have failed or changed from their initial offerings, we are focused on sustainable pricing models. We also provide key features that the every moviegoer expects, including advanced ticketing and seat selection.

Could you give us a general outline of what’s provided in this new “Sinemia Unlimited Movie Ticket Subscription plan”?

Rifat: Our new unlimited movie ticket plan includes one ticket to any 2D-format movie up to every day of the month, without any blackout dates. It also includes the ability to purchase tickets in advance and pick your seats.

This is supposed to be a sustainable model for seeing movies, what elements of this setup do you believe lend into that aspect of longevity?

Rifat: The unlimited plan is actually one of our most popular plans in Europe, and has been for some time. Through years of experience and plenty of testing, we’ve determined the sustainable and long term price point of $29.99. This price reflects the best possible price we can offer for a subscription of this kind while ensuring long-term stability.

Sinemia has a number of plans available, what type of movie goer do you feel this option is best suited for?

Rifat: This is for the mega movie fan who sees many movies every month, or even multiple movies each week.

For those potentially interested in joining Sinemia, what’s an intriguing aspect of the service you believe is most beneficial to the consumer?

Rifat: Our plans are focused on helping more moviegoers and families enjoy a night out at the movies without having to pay an arm and a leg.
