With the Xbox Series X full reveal on the horizon, and with various rumors over the years it seems like one of the noted worst kept secrets at Microsoft might actually be happening. That is of course Fable, a next generation RPG experience that brings back the series through the work at Playground Games.
With that, it was spotted that a Placeholder page has been setup for @fable on Twitter. This of course doesn’t confirm anything, but it has a join date of March 2020 which means this is recent. On top of that, doing a password recovery on the account notes that it will send an email to fa*************@m********.*** which is very like some sort of Fable “subtitle” at Microsoft.com.
That almost definitely means this is a Microsoft owned handle, and it’s one for their classic RPG series. The rumors over the years have pointed to this project being a brand new refresh for the series that ended on Xbox 360.
Now, it did have a failed games as service entry called Fable Legends. I actually personally thought that one might have been neat since I played it at E3 2015 which was ages ago. That article is below for nostalgia sakes. That aside, this could mean during the big Xbox Series X July event we’ll see a big return to the stage of the legendary Fable series.
Now with that, I’m certainly hyped if it were to show up. I also think it would be hilarious if they had secretly had Peter Molyneux working on it too. That would be one hilariously divisive moment. Anyways, you can read our mentioned article below or check out the general hub for additional coverage of the franchise.
