Microsoft Store App & Avatar Gifting Now Available

Microsoft Store App and Avatar Gifting is now available as of October 19, 2018. This will allow players to purchase apps, or Avatar clothing items for others. There are limitations which can be found below, but first some context. This option will work across Windows 10 PC on the Windows Store to the Xbox consoles currently with the Xbox One platforms. It expands the already available game gifting options that are present. You select "buy as a gift" when on the store pages of any items instead of buying it for yourself to use this feature. The gift recipient will receive a code for their product along with instructions on how to redeem the code.

On Xbox One, gift recipients will receive a system message with a clickable redemption button. This new system may take up to October 23, 2018 to be fully implemented. There are limits to the number of discounted products you can buy. Gift purchasers can only buy two of the same discounted product and a total of ten discounted products every 14 days. There are no limits for gift purchases made at full price. Gifting of Xbox 360 and Xbox original games; Xbox original avatar items, pre-orders, free products and consumable downloadable game content such as virtual currency is not allowed. Gift recipients can only redeem gift tokens in the country or region where they were purchased. The gifts are sent to recipients as soon as they are purchased. Currently, you can’t time the delivery of the gift for a specific date and time. You can view our hub area for the new Xbox One Avatars below.
