After many years of updates and development; Minecraft Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Wii U updates end. This is following the TU73 release that added new items and a fresh Nightmare Before Christmas Mash-Up Pack. The development of this version from 4J Studios started on May 9, 2012 and reached over 21 million players on Xbox 360 alone. The games will continue to run as they always have, they just won't be receiving any new updates.
You'll have to move towards a Bedrock version which is the modern take on the game and available on all platforms except Playstation 4 at this time. The development kits they used on these platforms have been packed up and it's a definite end to an era of work. While this might be sorrowing for some, the length of and longevity of these updates was impressive. The game will continue to be built on modern platforms. You can read our revisited article below, or the franchise hub to see what's new in the game.
