The next main entry in the Saints Row franchise is currently in deep development by Volition. This will be the first direct big release in the series since the 2013 launch of Saints Row IV. This was noted during the financial report from THQ Nordic which showcases a number of teases for their upcoming properties.
This will likely be a big surprise for fans considering how long it has been since any sort of follow-up has been presented for them to enjoy. There has been some ports, and spin-offs since yet nothing at the scale of the main releases. The main quote can be found below with additional details.
A direct quote from the report; ”Volition is deep in development of a brand-new Saints Row game, the first full entry in this much loved series since Saints Row IV was released in 2013.” It’s not yet known whether this will continue from the events of that fourth entry, if it’ll be a reboot or if things will go off in some other direction.
That’s really all the details thus far, it will likely be a cross-generation title between Xbox One/Xbox Scarlett, Playstation 4/Playstation 5 and PC titles. It may also arrive on the Nintendo Switch as the fourth entry recently released there. It’ll likely have a reveal in 2020 at E3 2020 or sooner, just going by the note of it being deep in development. Those are all the details for now, check out our revisited article on the last title or the Agents of Mayhem hub for content based on what Volition previously released.
