8k Smaller Screens Won't be Available for Awhile

With the hustle of CES 2019, it's often hard to get information on side things as you're so busy taking a look at everything. One of the main innovations that was present, was the showcase of 8k TVs. Almost everyone was doing something in this resolution, but all of the screens were absolutely massive. That's great as the common screen size has been raising over the years, but at the same time the price range will lock most people out of affording them. After seeing everything being basically 65" and bigger for the resolution, I asked each of the main PR folks for TV bookings I had whether we'd see smaller screens in the near future.

It was always the same comment; there's less of a benefit for smaller sizes and they're really focused on the larger screens. This was echoed from Samsung; LG and TCL. I would have asked others, but I assume the same thing would have been repeated. Now, I get that there's diminishing returns with the smaller sizes and that the better resolution benefits bigger screens. Sometimes though, people just want smaller sizes. I personally like the 55" I currently have, but would like to go up slightly bigger. When you get to 65" the price goes really high, especially for a new introduction and generally those screens don't fit every room. Whatever the case, I hope it does reach smaller screens over time as they could be expensive for quite awhile.
