It would seem that with the initial reveal of Far Cry 6 that Vaas might be returning. If you’re not familiar with the character, he was the insane protagonist from Far Cry 3. That means this sixth main entry may very well be a sort of prequel, and or origin story for the third game.
That’s quite fascinating, and it seems visually that this might be the case. The big giveaway appears to be a scar on the character, and the general aesthetic that sort of makes this generally plausible. This isn’t however confirmed at this point, but it certainly makes sense and builds up the character a tad more lore wise.
For further context this sixth game takes place on Yara, a tropical paradise frozen in time. The main villain is a dictator named Anton Castillo, someone with an intent to restore his nation to former glory by any means.
He’s joined by his son, Diego who is following in those footsteps. That son might very well end up being Vaas after the events of this game which would be very interesting. An origin as to how the madness really did develop due to the events your character might cause. You’re playing as Dani Rojas here, a local islander.
You can see a sort of comparison between the two visuals below, getting an understanding as to where this idea comes from. It sort of would make sense, and while some elements narrative wise of the third game don’t lend well to it.
You could look at it at the perspective of Vaas playing around with his back story. It’s quite interesting honestly. You can read additional details about the game below, or check out our general franchise hub for further coverage.
