In Journey to the Savage Planet you’re able to play coop with a friend. That means that two players can join the same match online. That means there’s no local coop of splitscreen, just to clarify. Below you can see details on how to join a friend’s game on each of the platforms and vice-versa. Additionally, how progress is handled when you join another game. A good note is that some achievements/trophies are available in coop play.
Two Player online coop can be accessed by selecting “Cooperative” from the main menu by the host player.
-Xbox One and Playstation 4 players can search for their coop partner’s online username in the search function or through their friends list.
-PC players using Epic Games launcher must already be existing friends to begin an online coop gameplay session.
-Both players must have purchased or downloaded a copy of the base game
When ending a cooperative session, the host player will retain their save state, items, resources and materials.
-The second cooop player joining a host session WILL NOT retain progress or materials collected during the session. The host player can then pick up their gameplay by going back to the main menu and starting a single player session where the most recent save from their co-op session will be available.
-Achievements/Trophies earned by both players are preserved after the coop session concludes.
