While Journey to the Savage Planet is largely based on exploration and discovery, it does have some combative situations. This includes the Floopsnoot Matriarch boss fight which is the second enemy you’ll face within the game. This has to be done in order to progress, and it’s something you will naturally come across as you’re playing the core narrative of the experience. Full details on how to handle this situation can be found below.
Details & Highlights
I did find this boss fight to be slightly harder than the last one and I can see some folks having troubles with it. What you’re going to be doing is moving around and shooting the yellow holes. This is easy enough the first time around, and it’s good for practicing the flow of this battle. Take your time at the start, hit the multiple tiers at various levels of this cylindrical space and prepare for the next level.
The second part of this battle has you also needing to add the acid plant bombs into the equation. That’s to melt the orange covering to yellow spots so that you can shoot them after using acid to melt. You might have acid holding gloves, otherwise you’ll need to be quick as there’s a countdown timer as soon as you grab them from the planet. Just keeping moving, and remember to also shoot the teleporting creatures as they spawn since they’ll be annoying. They were the real health sucking issue in this battle.
The third part of this battle is just a harder version of the second wave. Remember that health plants are at the bottom of the boss fight area, with a few of them present and they respawn over time so check as needed. Keep grappling, and also moving so that you’re less likely to get hit. If you’re working on the lower area be careful of the tentacle attacks from the low section of this stalk whereas splotching area attacks are present towards the top of this place. It’s not too hard, but may take a try or two if you’re having issues to get the attack flow right.
