Waypoint Crafting Requirements
2 Glowstone | 1 Duct Tape

For context the Drake Hollow Waypoints are very helpful little tower structures. They will allow you to create supply routes, and also to travel to places much faster. These towers are light on resource usage, but you’ll likely need many of them to really get a strong system going. So what you’re wanting to do is place a single tower near your camp area. From there start placing them along the island and towards another off in the distance island at the two location’s nearest peaks.

You’ll likely need to brave the fog to get there initially, but connecting them will allow you to safely grind the rails that are created by connected waypoints and therefore skip the fog travel below. To connect these waypoints you’ll go up to them and hold X (or platform equivalent) and you’ll want to maneuver the aim to see another waypoint highlighted and then click A to connect.

It’s worth noting that while placing a new waypoint another one will be highlighted in yellow if you’ll be able to connect it from the given position. If you place one and it doesn’t work, holding X will give an option to dismantle the structure for re-positioning. Aside from just looping waypoints together, you can also add in resource trucks to create supply lines which are helpful for resources. Make sure you connect your waypoints directly into your depot in order to gather the supplies from those trucks.

With that, after building a number of these you’ll be able to grind swiftly across the rails and be entirely safe while doing so. You can reverse direction while using the rails, have multiple directions and even place them on top of buildings or hills. They’re very convenient, versatile and most definitely helpful. When you’re done an area be sure to dismantle them so that you can carry them forward to the next season. It saves on supplies and increases your options. This is displayed in the video below along with a display of a line in action. Good luck surviving out there.
