Sonic is a very long running franchise from SEGA. There have been games, movies, books and so much more over the years. Sonic the Hedgehog is an iconic blue mascot for the company having big releases back in the days of SEGA being in the console business. Things have changed, and so has the characters.

There are still key elements though, mostly being about speed and collecting those special gold rings. There’s a certain bit of coolness to the character, having a diverse cast of supporting characters present too. It’s also not just intense platformers, the character has had racing titles, pinball games and so much more.

It’s a character that has some dynamic aspects to just what they can provide and there will be a long history for the character to continue forward across new adventures. Whether they’re in 2D, 3D of even cinematically the hedgehog continues to just speed along.
